Rick Crawford, of Kilgore and the East Panola County Gun Club, suffered a fatal heart attack at work yesterday morning. During his lifetime, Rick accomplished most everything for which a competitive high-power shooter may aspire -- Distinguished Rifleman, High Master classification, multiple awards of the President's 100, member of the 495 and 792 clubs, mainstay of the Texas State Service Rifle team for 22 years, selected for the national service rifle team in 2009, and multiple state-level championships. But, more importantly, he was a wonderful individual, who was personally responsible for the excellent level of competitive rifle competition in the state of Texas.
